John "playing lady"

Written on the back, in tiny script, by John's mother Mary Celia (Dixon) McLaren: This isn't a little girl it is John dressed up "playing lady," standing in my flower garden last summer. The house that shows in the corner is our next neighbor west across the street. It shows the sleeping porches at the back of the house. Mrs. Hanson owns it. She is one of my best friends.
John is standing on the Dixon farm in Vienna, South Dakota.
John was born April 13, 1912.
