Peter McLaren, Sr.
My mother kept this picture, separate from all the family albums, with the following caption: "This picture saddens me. I simply do not remember where it came from but feel certain that it was with Marion's pictures . . . It does look some like Grandpa McLaren and I wonder if this might have been his Father. We will never know - but I simply couldn't destroy it."
It was, indeed, Grandpa McLaren's father, Peter McLaren, Sr. - confirmed by cousin John Olson, who has the identical picture of his great, great grandfather.
Born June 9, 1839 (one hundred years and three days before me) Peter Sr. is the oldest McLaren we can see.
