Martha Elizabeth Winchester
Martha spent a good portion of her childhood in the general store across the street from the family home in Wilmington, California. There, she would repetedly beg for a cookie - which she mispronounced as "tookie."
"Tookie" became her nickname, and followed her for the rest of her life.
